Qld: Evacuations in flooded areas of central Queensland
BRISBANE, Feb 22 AAP - Police and emergency services workers were bracing for more
evacuations today as flood waters continued to rise in central Queensland.
A police spokesman in Winton said the Western River was approaching record levels near
the town and 12 homes, two motels and a caravan park had been evacuated overnight.
He said there could be more evacuations today from homes and flood-bound properties.
About 300 motorists also were reported stranded in the area bounded by Richmond, Hughenden,
Muttaburra, Longreach and Winton - …
