Vic: Three men tied up and bashed in attack

MELBOURNE, Feb 15 AAP - Three men have been tied up and bashed during an armed robbery
in Melbourne's south-east overnight.

A Victoria Police spokesman said an 18-year-old man had gone to the house in Bealiba
Road, Caulfield South, at 10pm (AEDT) yesterday to wait for two brothers who lived there
to return home.

Soon after he arrived at the address, five men wearing balaclavas entered the house
through an unlocked front door.

Police believe the group was armed with a machete, knife and axe.

"They attacked the 18-year-old and he suffered a wound to the hand," Senior Constable
Wayne Wilson said. "He was then tied up with duct tape."

A short time later when the brothers, aged 19 and 24, arrived home they were also attacked.

The 19-year-old man suffered cuts to the head, while his 24-year-old brother suffered
bruising to the face.

They were also tied up by their attackers, who then demanded drugs and money, before
ransacking the house.

"They took the victims' wallets, mobile phone and some jewellery," Snr Const Wayne Wilson said.

"The 19-year-old and the 18-year-old were taken to the Alfred Hospital for treatment,
while the 24-year-old man was treated at the scene."
