VIC:Elderly man dies in family crash

An elderly man's been killed after a four wheel drive .. believed to be carrying five
other family members .. rolled in rural Victoria.

The man .. aged in his 80s .. was in a Landcruiser which left the Murray Valley Highway
at Shelley after the driver lost control of the vehicle just after seven o'clock tonight.

Police say the elderly man died at the scene while the driver and front-seat passenger
were taken to Wodonga hospital with serious injuries.

Three others were treated for minor injuries.

It's believed all occupants are from South Australia and are related.

Investigators are now looking into whether the driver was forced to take evasive action
.. with witnesses reporting seeing another vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road
around the time of the accident.

They want to speak to the driver of a white Toyota Prada or Landcruiser that was seen
travelling west on the Murray Valley Highway at the time.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

The death takes the national road toll to 30 so far this Christmas holiday period.
