HORSE TRAINERS NOW DUELING IN THE COURTS.(SPORTS)

Mike Hushion will seek a preliminary injunction Thursday against fellow thoroughbred trainer Jose Martin as part of a lawsuit that charges Martin with an "unconscionable act of animal cruelty."

In a damage suit filed Wednesday by Hushion's attorney, Judd Burstein, in Nassau County Supreme Court, the trainer accuses Martin of being responsible for burning one of his horses, Oriane, with an acid.

The war between the two New York trainers apparently started when Martin accused Hushion of drugging his horses. Martin said that tests on a horse he claimed from Martin, Miss Tahiti, showed an illegal level of the …
