WA: 10yo gets surf bravery award for rescuing Scottish tourists

A 10-year-old girl is to be given a bravery award for her part in saving three Scottishtourists caught in a rip at a Perth beach on New Year's Day.

JESSIE PRIDDIS was paddling her surfboard at popular Trigg beach when she noticed arip developing and a swimmer in trouble.

She paddled to him and offered him her board for floatation.

JESSIE, a member of the Trigg Island surf lifesaving club since she was seven, signalledto volunteer lifesavers on patrol and they rescued the man in a rubber ducky.

She also helped two other swimmers.

The rescued swimmers were all from Scotland.

JESSIE will receive her bravery award from the state's life saving association on Sunday.
