REGENTS ERRED, COURT SAYS.(Local)

The state Board of Regents erred when it suspended the license of an Albany psychiatrist for a year because of poor record keeping without first giving the doctor a full hearing, an appellate court ruled Thursday.

In deciding the case of Dr. Henry A. Camperlengo, the five-member Appellate Division of state Supreme Court questioned a so-called expedited hearing held for Camperlengo by a committee of the Regents.

The license of Camperlengo, 58, was suspended by the Regents for one year in December 1987, and he was placed on probation for an additional four years. The doctor, who has practiced out of a South Allen …
